NRSWA - Location & Avoidance of Underground Apparatus (LA)
This training is essential for operatives and supervisors to learn the legislative framework, practical actions they must take, safety principles and more in NRSW. In addition, delegates will review legal requirements, ensure safety compliance, and understand procedures and appropriate documentation and classifications.
The course content includes:
New Roads and Street Works Act
Basic principles of location and avoidance of underground services
Hazard identification and the risks associated with them
Reading and interpreting site plans
Identifying duct and cable
Practical use of equipment
At the end of the assessment, successful delegates will:
Understand the basic principles of the NRSW Act and CABWI standards
Identify potential risks to themselves and others
Read and understand site plans
Operate cable avoidance tools to avoid or locate underground apparatus
Once the delegate has their CABWI certificate, we will then send off for their SWQR card, which will enable them to gain access to the site.
